Lexington Park Equity Accelerator

We’re happy to announce a new program! CivicLex is partnering with LFUCG‘s Divisions of Planning and Parks and Recreation, Seedleaf, and a number of community organizations on The Lexington Park Equity Accelerator! The project, funded by the Trust For Public Land, seeks to increase access to parks and public space and urban greenspace in Lexington through public policy.

Check out this short video about the project by LexTV below.

Evidence shows that access to greenspace significantly positively affects public health, climate resiliency, and more. Addressing inequitable access to greenspace is a top priority for the City of Lexington. It has been a crucial aspect of the 2018 Parks Master Plan, the 2018 Comprehensive Plan, and the Committee for Racial Justice and Equality’s 2020 report.
