Richard Attends the Inaugural Big Towns Conference

Last week, CivicLex’s Executive Director Richard Young attended the inaugural Big Towns conference held in Lafayette, Louisiana. Hosted by nonprofit newsroom The Current, Big Towns brought together community leaders from small to mid-sized cities and big towns to talk about the unique issues our communities face.

During the conference, Richard was part of two main stage keynotes, one on the rise of civic media and another focusing on Lexington itself. The Lexington panel also featured Vice Mayor Dan Wu, President/CEO of Blue Grass Community Foundation Lisa Adkins, Lexington Black Prosperity Initiative Advisor Christian Motley. Other sessions at the conference included panels about housing challenges, arts & culture, economic development, and more.
