UK/CivicLex Council Committee Watch Parties Resume

We're excited to announce the return of our City Committee Watch Parties at UK! For the past 18 months, we've partnered with the University of Kentucky's Office of Service Learning and Civic Engagement to host monthly gatherings where we watch LFUCG Council meetings, play civic board games, and learn about the workings of local government! This week, we resume these workshops for the Fall semester.

We started this program to help UK students better understand local civic issues. We think that this can help give UK students more of a stake in Lexington's future - and even encourage them to stay after graduation! While the Watch Parties are ok UK's campus, they are also open to the general public.

This week, we will watch the Mayoral and Council-at-Large forum for our first meeting on September 14! The forum will be a great and fun way to learn about these offices and the people looking to fill them. The Watch Party starts at 6 p.m. on September 14 in the Cat's Den.
