π‘ Big topic this week: Council talks ARPA
On Tuesday, November 30 at 10am and Thursday, December 2 at 1pm, Council will hold Committee of the Whole meetings to discuss additional ARPA expenditures. You can watch them via LexTV.
To date, 42 different ARPA expenditures totaling $49.7M are moving forward, amounting for 41% of the total ARPA funds LFUCG will receive.
Of that amount, $38.4M has either been fully approved or is pending a final vote before Council. The balance, 4 projects totaling $11.2M, were approved at the previous ARPA Committee of the Whole on November 4.
At CivicLex, weβre compiling a database of all projects for which the the city has committed ARPA funds. You can access that here.
To date, the six largest ARPA expenditures are:
Premium Pay for LFUCG Staff - $13M
Affordable Housing - $10M
Nonprofit Capital Projects - $9M
Government Employee Subsidies - $4.6M
COVID-19 Alternative Winter Shelter - $1.4M
Irrigation improvements at Lakeside Golf Course - $1.3M
π’ This week in City Hall: Council Workshop for Public Input on Redistricting
When: December 1, 5pm in Council Chambers - 2nd Floor Government Center.
On Wednesday, December 1 at 5pm, Council will hold a public input meeting to hear residents' opinions on the new District map proposed by the Redistrict Lexington Committee.
You can see an interactive version of the map on the city's website here.
The Committee presented this map to Council on November 18 and answered the CM's questions about the map and the process that led them to it.
Council didn't propose changes to the map at that meeting and will likely base any future recommendations on what they hear at this workshop.
