A brief presentation on the upcoming Downtown Master Plan
On Tuesday, the General Government and Planning (GGP) Committee will hear an update on Lexington’s Downtown Area Master Plan from Senior Planner Boyd Sewe.
Council allocated $500,000 to developing the Downtown Master Plan, which will define the boundaries of Lexington’s downtown area and set a vision for growth and development in downtown Lexington.
Some objectives of the plan include:
Increasing housing options
Bike and pedestrian safety
Connectivity between the downtown area and surrounding neighborhoods
The City is currently accepting applications from consultants to be hired to create the plan. A consultant will be selected in April of this year and will work on the plan through the end of 2026.
You can view the full presentation slides starting on page three of this packet.
The General Government and Planning (GGP) Committee will meet on Tuesday, March 4th at 1pm in Council Chambers. You can attend in-person or watch live on LexTV.
