A look at the design for the new Senior Center at Shillito Park

In Tuesday’s Council Work Session, Councilmembers will be presented the design for the new Senior and Therapeutic Recreation Center coming to Shillito Park.

The new Center will house similar programming the the Senior Center on Life Lane for Lexington’s senior population, but will also have therapeutic recreation equipment and activities such as archery, yoga, group fitness classes, and more.

$24 million is dedicated toward the construction of the new Center in the FY 2025 Budget. Construction is expected to begin in November of this year and last 18 months, with a ribbon cutting ceremony scheduled for May of 2026.
