Potential changes to city's housing assistance programs

At Tuesday’s Work Session, Council heard a presentation on an ordinance change for some of Lexington’s Community & Resident Services (CRS). CRS offers a variety of financial assistance programs for Lexington residents. The proposed changes would create more standardized guidelines for their programs, including Short Term Lodging Assistance. For most programs, the proposed changes will increase benefits and broaden the requirements to access the program. You can view the entire presentation here.

Council was very receptive to these changes which would allow more Lexington residents to qualify for and access these programs. No action was taken by Council at this time.

The Urban County Council met on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at 3PM in Council Chambers. You can watch the recording on LexTV.
