Proposed changes to city’s Vacation Leave Policy

The GGP Committee meeting reviewed the Vacation Leave Policy for city employees. The committee heard a presentation on the current policy followed by a proposal to increase the amount of accrued hours that carry over every year, but lower the cap on vacation leave payouts at the end of an employee's career. You can review the presentation slides starting on page 70 of this packet.

The changes included an increase on the amount of accrued hours that carry over every year from 168 hours to 336 hours, but lower the cap on vacation leave payouts at the end of an employee's career t0 336 hours. This item was passed out of Committee and Work Session. It received its first reading on Thursday, March 9th.
