Public Arts Commission meeting this week

The Public Arts Commission is a relatively new LFUCG Commission that governs Lexington’s 1% for Art program and uses these funds to install Public Art on LFUCG property. Last year, the Commission released a Public Art Master Plan for what they envision for the city. During this meeting they will discuss a new project at the Lexington Detention Center to install new artwork in their spaces, as well as creating an application process for members of the community to submit proposals for new art projects.

The Public Arts Commission will met in Council Chambers on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at 9:30am. You can watch the recording on LexTV.

Full Disclosure: CivicLex’s Executive Director, Richard Young is a member of the Public Art Commission
