CivicLex’s Contract to Review Boards and Commissions up for Vote
Earlier this year, LFUCG released a Request for Proposals (RFP) to conduct an evaluation of LFUCG’s 69 Boards and Commissions, including their membership, structure, diversity, vacancy rates, appointment process, and more. CivicLex, in partnership with CivStart, a national nonprofit focused on local government technology, submitted a response to the RFP and were eventually selected for the project!

CivicLex Proposes New Public Input Meetings
At this Thursday’s Public Input Subcommittee meeting, the committee will discuss a CivicLex proposal for two new types of Council-hosted meetings that could be used as opportunities to gather more public input.
Lexington named as the first Our Common Purpose community in the nation!
On Friday of last week, the Academy and Mayor Linda Gorton announced Lexington as the first Our Common Purpose community in the nation at their Reinventing Democracy Summit. CivicLex, The Blue Grass Community Foundation, and LFUCG (along with anyone else that wants to help!) will work together to implement two of the 31 recommendations outlined in the Academy’s Our Common Purpose report.
