Legislature Overrides Governor’s HB 18 Veto — Lexington’s Source of Income Ordinance is on Pause
Today, both the Kentucky State House of Representatives and the State Senate voted to override Governor Andy Beshear’s veto of House Bill 18. Council will soon amend the recently passed source of income discrimination ban ordinance.

Source of Income Discrimination Ban Will Receive Its Final Vote
In this Thursday’s Council Meeting, the Source of Income Discrimination (SOI) Ban will be up for its final vote from the Urban County Council. If passed, the ordinance will take effect on March 1st, 2024.
Source of Income Discrimination Ordinance Passes Out of Committee
Last Tuesday, the Social Services and Public Safety Committee passed a Source of Income (SOI) Discrimination ban ordinance. The Source of Income Discrimination Ordinance will be in Tuesday’s Council Work Session report out from the SSPS Committee.
