Session 4 Recap
On Saturday, March 14th, assembly members met at Transylvania University's Student Center to begin their deliberation. After some relationship-building activities, the group moved into making their very first decision: how they should vote moving forward. After considering several options, the group settled on the following structure:
For any decision with three or more options, they will use multi voting – where each assembly member receives a number of votes equal to half the number of options, rounded up, which they can spread across the options. The group will then hold a binary vote on the top two.
For decisions with only two options, they will take a simple binary vote.
Recommendations will only be approved by a supermajority of 70% of present assembly members.
All voting will be publicly visible, but individual votes will not be attributed by name.
After settling their voting process, the assembly ran a practice deliberation on their two topics and voted to approve the use of the March 26th Contingency Day.
