Council Adopted FY24 City Budget

Lexington just adopted its largest budget in history at over $900 million, including all Restricted Funds. The adoption of the budget means that the city can start implementing some of the new projects and programs that received funding as soon as July 1st! If you’re interested in learning more about the budget, you can get started with the budget explainer page on our website. You can also check out some of our other budget resources:

  • Read our Budget Guide - Take a look at our Guide to the Mayor’s Proposed Budget, which explains the budget in a simple, straightforward way.

  • Peruse our budget database - CivicLex creates a budget database every year to help residents understand what exactly is being funded in more detail.

  • Making Sense of Lexington's City Budget - We offer workshops about the city’s budget process, hosted by yours truly at CivicLex! Reach out to Megan Gulla about scheduling one for your organization, business, community group, or even your friends.
