Council Work Session

Due to all the COWs, there was no committee or council meeting the week of May 30th, but there was a work session, where they discussed and voted on interesting items such as:

  • Approval of funding for several new speed tables to be installed in three neighborhoods

  • Funding to support and begin the design process of the Complete Streets Project for Lexington

  • $100,000 to hire a consultant to complete a violence prevention needs assessment

Update:

You may remember a presentation from March at a Council Work Session about updates to several Community & Resident Services programs. LFUCG staff requested ordinance changes to three of their emergency housing assistance programs in an effort to standardize eligibility criteria and make these programs more accessible to residents in need. These changes were approved at Work Session and will go on to receive first and second reading in the coming weeks. Check out our previous reporting on this to refresh your memory!

Council Work Session was held on Tuesday, May 30th at 3:00 PM in Council Chambers. You can watch the recording on LexTV.
