Follow-up on Redistricting Workgroup Report

In November 15th’s General Government and Social Services (GGSS) Committee Meeting, there was be a follow-up on the Redistricting Workgroup’s plan for future redistricting processes in Lexington. The Workgroup presented this report a couple of weeks prior in a Special Committee meeting — you can read our summary of that meeting and the Redistricting Workgroup report here.

The Workgroup has revised some of the language in the Report, adding more concrete dates for when the process should begin and end, clarifying some language around Redistricting Committee appointee qualifications, and other small adjustments. You can read the revised Redistricting Workgroup Report starting on page 39 of this packet.

The GGSS Committee voted to move the new Report to Council Work Session on November 29. The entire Council will then discuss the report and vote whether to begin the process of adopting it, or to reject it.
