Lexington Public Infrastructure Program

In November 29th’s Budget, Finance, and Economic Development (BFED) Committee, there was a presentation on the Lexington Public Infrastructure Program. Council allocated $3 million for the creation of this program, which will provide funding to developers to construct public infrastructure necessary for their infill and redevelopment projects.

The Lexington Public Infrastructure Program would only give money for developers to build public infrastructure like sidewalks, shared-use paths, public parking lots, sewers, and public transit infrastructure. Money could only be applied to the actual construction of the facilities, not their design.

The BFED Committee passed a resolution expressing their support for this program. You can look at the full presentation on page 27 of this packet.
