PDR Program Update

In December 6th’s Planning and Public Safety (PPS) Committee Meeting, there was an annual update on the Purchase of Development Rights (PDR) Program. The PDR Program, run by LFUCG and managed by the Rural Land Management Board, purchases the “development rights” of farms outside the Urban Service Boundary. This means that the farm can be sold among property owners as usual, but the “development rights” are not included in the sale, so the farm can only continue to exist as a farm in perpetuity. You can view the presentation for the PDR Program Update on page 7 of this packet.

No action was taken regarding the PDR Program in this meeting. You can watch the meeting recording on LexTV.
