Planning Commission begins work on Comp Plan policies

At the Planning Commission Work Session on Thursday, June 15th, members heard a presentation from Division of Planning’s Valerie Friedmann on changes that have been made to the Comprehensive Plan’s Theme B Element, which covers sustainability and the environment. The update included new policies to support the ambitious goal for the city to go carbon neutral by 2050.

The Commission also heard from Hal Baillie about some of the policies that will support Theme D on building desirable communities. These policies will work to address accessible street design, create more specific development standards and best practices, and support an integrated approach to many of Lexington’s programs and services. No action was taken at this meeting.
