Session 2 Recap

On Tuesday March 3rd, assembly members came together for the second session of Lexington’s first Civic Assembly that focused on Council compensation. They first heard a presentation on where Council compensation currently stands, what are the laws and caps for it, and what our public survey said residents thought about compensation. Then, assembly members got into small groups to look at peer cities (cities that are the same relative size or has similar qualities like a university to Lexington) and see how they pay their Councilmembers. After an activity looking at four peer cities, current and former Councilmembers came and had one-on-one conversations with assembly members about their experience as a Councilmember.

You can watch a recording of the session here.
