Richard heads to the Mercatus Center at George Mason University

Last week, our Executive Director Richard Young took off to Washington DC to attend the Mercatus Center’s Pluralism Summit. The conference focused on the concept of pluralism - the ability of people from varying backgrounds, walks of life, and perspectives to coexist and live together peacefully.

While there, Richard met with scholars, practitioners, and funders in the pluralism field to talk about bringing people together across differences and how to engage productively with local civic life. Some of those include the Hannah Arendt Center, the Lyceum Movement, The Village Square, New Pluralists, and more. While there, he was pleased (and surprised!) to hear that many attendees already knew about CivicLex!
