Council concludes link meetings for FY 23/24 Budget
The City Budget continues to move forward with the conclusion of Link Meetings and the Council’s Public Hearing. You can read more about the meetings here.
But its not over yet! If you couldn’t attend the hearing, don’t worry, because there are still other ways to get involved!
Attend the next COW Meeting - Council will be meeting again in a Committee of the Whole at 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 30th in Council Chambers to review their budget amendments. After that, the budget will receive first reading on Tuesday, June 13th at 5pm. The second reading of the FY24 budget is scheduled for Thursday, June 15th.
Contact your Councilmember - The Councilmembers are now in charge of the budget - they can make any revision they want, as long as it achieves a majority vote. If you have priorities, concerns, or things you want to support in the budget, let them know!
Check out our budget database - CivicLex creates a budget database every year, to help explore what exactly is being funded in more detail. The database is open to the public and accessible here. If it’s too confusing, don’t despair! We will be releasing our Budget Guide that summarizes the findings of the budget soon.
Attend a budget workshop - we will also be hosting budget workshops throughout the month of May to give you the best possible look of how we understand the budget, and how you can get more involved! The first one will be this Tuesday at the Senior Center, but keep an eye on our events calendar or our Facebook page for more dates to be announced.
