LFUCG Employee Adoption Assistance Program
At Tuesday's Budget, Finance, and Economic Development Committee Meeting, HR Director Tammy Walters will present updates on the Adoption Assistance Program for LFUCG employees with adopted children.
The program started in 2009 and was last revised in 2012. $6,000 was budgeted for the program in FY22, but LFUCG is considering increasing it to $8,000 for FY23. LFUCG may allocate additional funds if there are insufficient funds for reimbursement.
Initially, the maximum reimbursement for an eligible adoption is $2,000, and $5,000 is proposed as an increase. For children with special needs, the maximum reimbursement amount is $7,000.
Eligible adoption refers to one of a child under the age of 18 who is not the child of an employee's partner. Employees can apply for reimbursement six months after the adoption is finalized.
There is no change in employee eligibility or expenses eligible for reimbursement.
