New Community Risk Assessment Standards
Updated 10/16/2023:
The Division of Fire and Emergency Services presented their new Community Risk Assessment Standards of Cover to the Social Services and Public Safety Committee last week. These standards were set as part of an accreditation program that they are pursuing with the Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE) and the Commission for Fire Accreditation International (CFAI).
The presentation reviewed the accreditation process and the impacts it will have on the division and the city. This process will help the Division of Fire and Emergency Services assess and improve their response times to emergency calls and identify other gaps in service that need to be addressed.

In the Social Services & Public Safety Committee, Councilmembers will hear a presentation about the Division of Fire and Emergency Services’s new Community Risk Assessment Standards of Cover.
These standards were created to achieve accreditation through the Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE) and the Commission for Fire Accreditation International (CFAI). Accreditation will hopefully be awarded this fall. The standards provide a risk assessment and overview of the Division’s services throughout all of Fayette County.
