Council has officially approved a change to the public comment period for formal Council Meetings.
Public comment period may be moved to beginning of Council Meetings
Last Thursday, the Public Input Subcommittee voted to recommend a change to Council Meetings that would move public comment for items on the agenda to the beginning of the meeting, rather than the end of the meeting.
New public comment restricting media use to pass this week
In Thursday’s Council Meeting, Council will have their final vote to approve new rules surrounding multimedia materials in public comment. The new policy would revise existing public comment rules to clarify that public comment is “a time for residents to address the Council with their own spoken comments.”

At this Thursday’s Public Input Subcommittee meeting, the committee will discuss a CivicLex proposal for two new types of Council-hosted meetings that could be used as opportunities to gather more public input.
