The Lexington Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is seeking input on the 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan! This plan guides the use of federal highway and public transportation dollars toward significant projects in Lexington and Jessamine County.

On March 5th, Fayette Alliance will be hosting an event called Mapped: Analyzing Land and Housing Trends in Lexington, where they will release and discuss two studies they have commissioned from firms Lord Aeck Sargent and KB Advisory Group that analyze land-use patterns, development, and housing needs in Lexington.

Through a grant from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Bourbon, Clark, Fayette, Jessamine, Scott, and Woodford Counties, and the cities in each of those counties, are working together to create a Regional Sustainability Plan!

On February 24th, Ashland will be hosting an Open House to debut a new tour showcasing the history of Black people both enslaved and employed at Ashland in the 1800s and early 1900s.

LexArts is developing their Lexington Arts & Culture Master Design Strategy Plan, which will lay out steps to improve and enhance Lexington’s arts and culture scene. But they need your help to do it!

VisitLex has created three self-guided walking tours to highlight African American History in Lexington. Each stop teaches residents about the history of slavery and segregation in Lexington, and the achievements of Black Americans in Lexington!

On Tuesday, January 30th at 11am, Mayor Linda Gorton will deliver the annual State of the City Address. Mayor Gorton will provide an overview of strength areas in Lexington, as well as opportunities for growth over the next year.

On Friday, The Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning will celebrate youth poets who are leaders in their communities.

As part of their work looking into ways to improve and reform Code Enforcement’s work, Councilmembers Denise Gray and Shayla Lynch will be hosting a Town Hall where residents can share their experiences and thoughts on Code Enforcement in Lexington!

The Code Enforcement Town Hall will be held Monday, January 22nd from 1:30-2:30pm at the Lexington Senior Center.

Lextran will be holding four listening sessions with the community to hear about experiences and feedback from residents on Lextran’s Wheels service. After all sessions have been completed, feedback generated will be compiled and shared with the community.
