Tuesday at the Social Services & Public Safety (SSPS) Committee meeting, Council will hear a presentation from Division of Community Corrections Director Scott Colvin reporting the findings of a recent operations review.

The General Government and Planning (GGP) Committee will hear a presentation on the roll out of new software that enables users to translate any page of Lexington’s city website into one of 81 different languages.

Public Arts Commission meeting this week
The Public Arts Commission is a relatively new LFUCG Commission that governs Lexington’s 1% for Art program and uses these funds to install Public Art on LFUCG property. Last year, the Commission released a Public Art Master Plan for what they envision for the city.
ARPA funding reallocated to community projects
At Council Work Session last Tuesday, Council took the first steps toward reallocating $6 million of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds from the Lexington Farmers' Market new facility at Davis Park, and the Salvation Army's new property location.

Council Committee heard about employment trends and projections
The Budget, Finance, and Economic Development (BFED) Committee will hear a presentation from Dr. Michael Clark, an Economics Professor at the University of Kentucky on Tuesday about employment and wage trends in Lexington.
Council heard an update on Flock Cameras
In Tuesday’s Work Session, Council will hear a presentation on Flock Cameras. Lexington Police Department (LPD) acquired 25 Flock Cameras in early 2022 for a year-long pilot. In December, though, Council voted to move ahead with leasing 75 extra Cameras before the pilot was scheduled to wrap up this March

Thursday, February 16th, the Planning Commission held a public hearing on the 2045 Comprehensive Plan Goals and Objectives. After several hours of discussion, they adjourned with the intention to continue the hearing on Thursday, February 23rd, at the end of their Zoning Subcommittee Meeting.

The city is taking input on the future of growth in Lexington
As you may have heard, The draft Goals and Objectives for Lexington’s 2045 Comprehensive Plan have been released! The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Thursday, February 16th at 1:30 pm in Council Chambers to gather input from the community.
Proposed changes to zoning language return
In Tuesday, February 14th’s General Government and Planning (GGP) Committee meeting, The Division of Planning will return to discuss their proposal to update the Zoning Code's Intent Statements.
Trees being added to stormwater projects
The Water Quality Fees Board will hold a special meeting this Thursday, February 16th to vote on a proposal to add a Tree Canopy scoring component to the Infrastructure Stormwater Quality Projects Incentive Grants.
