Members of the Planning Commission heard a presentation from on changes that have been made to the Comprehensive Plan’s Theme B Element, which covers sustainability and the environment.

The Social Services & Public Safety Committee heard a presentation on recruitment, retention, and retirement activity from Public Safety Commissioner Ken Armstrong as well as the Director of Code Enforcement, Alex Olszowy.

At the final Committee of the Whole (COW) on the “Imagine Lexington 2045” Comprehensive Plan Goals & Objectives, Council voted to expand the Urban Service Boundary (USB), which restricts development of Fayette County’s rural land.

Council held their final Budget COW to hear proposed amendments to the Mayor’s Budget, as recommended by Budget Links and individual Councilmembers.

The Planning Commission held a pubic hearing on Imagine New Circle Road (INCR).

Council will met in its second Committee of the Whole (COW) to discuss amendments to the “Imagine Lexington 2045” Comprehensive Plan Goals & Objectives (G&O).

In the budget COWs, links and Councilmembers presented and voted on their recommended amendments to the Mayor’s proposed budget, and then voted to adopt the budget as amended.

Due to all the COWs, there will be no committee or council meeting this week, but there will be a work session.

The Planning Commission held a public hearing where they voted and approved the establishment of Cardinal Run Park North near the intersection of New Circle and Versailles Roads.

At this COW, councilmembers will have the opportunity to discuss and vote on the amendments they want to make to the Comprehensive Plan Goals & Objectives.

At the Environmental Quality & Public Works Committee meeting, Councilmembers heard three very interesting presentations on different city initiatives.

In Work Session, Councilmembers heard from Lextran and LexPark on their proposed FY24 operating budget.

Council had another workshop on the new Space Study.

The Planning Commission had a work session, where members saw several presentations.

At the Corridors Commission Meeting, members discussed several exciting projects that they have in the works right now!

The Public Input Subcommittee met again to continue their discussions on best practices for public engagement in City Council Meetings.

The City’s Budget continues to move through the process. But it is not over yet!
